Catherine Kirker, Edmonton
Catherine is Kirker Law's lead litigator. She studied at the University of Alberta and was called to the Alberta bar in 2015. She co-founded the firm and built its reputation for strong, capable advocacy. When a matter needs someone to stand up in court, family law included, Catherine is who you want in your corner. She shares the conviction that the system should do better by survivors, and she brings that to the courtroom side of the work. Catherine understands that clients need to feel understood by their lawyer, and they need a strong advocate. For Catherine, being a lawyer is more than just a title; she puts not only her intellect, but also her heart and soul into her work.
Catherine enjoys the creativity of problem-solving for her clients. Her ability to take high-level views of her clients’ needs enables her to see how all pieces of each of her clients’ various needs are connected to one another. Catherine applies this high-level view to serve her clients in a more holistic and integrated way.
Catherine’s legal experience is well-rounded and comprehensive, with experience in family law, civil litigation, estate litigation, and legacy planning.
Evan Kirker, Edmonton

Jessica C. Koch, Virtual
Jessica practises family law entirely online, serving clients anywhere in Alberta. She founded Koch Solutions Family Law, which works in association with Kirker Law. She focuses on limited scope work: you hire her for the specific pieces you need, whether that is a separation agreement, a cohabitation or marriage agreement, financial disclosure, property division analysis, or coaching before a hearing or trial, and you handle the rest yourself with her support.
Jessica built her practice around a conviction that good legal help should be reachable. Most people facing a separation cannot hand their whole file to a lawyer, and the ones who try often run out of money before the matter is done. Working piece by piece means a client can get real legal advice at the points where it changes the outcome, and keep control of the rest.
Much of her work is with people leaving difficult or abusive relationships. Jessica is direct about what the law can and cannot do for them, and she does not treat what happened in the relationship as beside the point. Clients tell her they leave a meeting knowing exactly what happens next, which is the thing most of them arrive without.
Jessica's legal experience includes separation and divorce, parenting arrangements, child and spousal support, property division, cohabitation and marriage agreements, and family violence. She graduated from the University of Victoria and was called to the British Columbia bar in 2012 and the Alberta bar in June 2025. Before moving to Alberta she lived in Victoria, BC for fifteen years.
Kyla Kirker, Calgary
Kyla practises real estate law from Kirker Law's Calgary office, helping clients through purchases, sales and refinancing so the legal side of a move is handled properly and on time. She graduated from the University of Calgary Faculty of Law in 2022 and was called to the Alberta bar in 2023.
